Production Images

Production Images on PhotoPeach

These are some images from production of the key scene. The images depict the spider rig which I used as a stabiliser and a way of getting smooth shots. The various formations that the rig can be in allows you to create some interesting shots. The Canon 650D camera which I'm using allows my shots to look better than if I shot it on my phone. The use of focus points allows me to adjust what I want the audience to see visually when shooting. The location used in this scene had enough room for me to shoot and the 180 degree space in which I shot captured the tone and feel of the area.

On the second part of my shoot I upgraded to the Canon 70D which ultimately produces a better image than the previous. The improvement shouldn't be so substantial that its noticeable but I thought I'd make opportunity of the better camera. It also gave me more experience and I learnt how to operate the focus ring effectively and how to adjust the ISO manually.

A CHANGE IN SONG

Over the course of editing the video I discovered that the video was over ambitious and the tone of what I'd shot didn't suit the song. I'd shot everything more elegantly with the use of interesting locations which made everything more majestic. The song being of the pop-punk genre didn't fit so I needed to find another to replace it. I landed on Pink Floyd - Breathe because it has that majestic quality and perfectly matches the tone of what I'd shot. I will still be using the existing footage I've shot but will discard the scenes that I intended to shoot. Now I just need to shoot one more scene instead of three which will ultimately give me more editing time. From the current editing I've done on the new song when the shots match the beat it works really well so the positives of the change far out weigh the negatives.

Editing Preparation

From doing this editing tutorial it allowed me to see what variations of cuts are effective and how they can be used to create a certain image.
